Cyberbullying
Hey guys, what's up?
Today I'm going to talk about one of the biggest problems of social media: Cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of any kind of some social media platforms.
As you guys know, there are a lot of users of social media and there are a lot of different users too. Some of them shares and some of them stalks. The photos someone shares look amazing, happy, beautiful, cool and when stalkers check the comments of the photos or posts they see a lot of good and hyping comments about him/her.
Then let me create character and show you how it works. Let's create a character called Monica. Monica is a beginner at social media, and she is a stalker. She uploads some social media platforms, and she visits them every single day. When she looks at comments and she see that they are hyping comments, she says to herself " I can do this too!" and she turns to a sharer. She posts her first sharing and every minute she checks her comments and followers. In first days, there are just her friends and family, but Monica doesn't like it. She is looking forward to having a lot of followers, so she keeps sharing photos. In time her followers and comments start to raise up. She feels so happy because she shares photos every day and when she checks the comments, she sees a lot of hyping comments about her. She is so happy, and she feels as if she reaches her goal. But one day, when she posts a photo again and checks the comments, she sees a bad comment! That is like a disaster for her. The comment tells her that her style is very bad. She doesn't like it.
She changes her style a little next day and posts it again but this time there are worse comments! She reads and changes like how they want her to be one more time. The next day she shares again and bum! There are more bad comments. She changes every single day. Her family and friends are worried about her because she has changed a lot. They tell Monica that they like her either way and they want her to stop sharing photos. Monica is worried about herself too, but she doesn’t want to leave it because she is trying to prove herself to those bullies. After a while, her comments under the photos are full of hate comments and she is exhausted because she loses herself, family, friends and all she has is a handful of hate comments. As you see in the example of Monica the bullies are like snake they come and hunts you. Maybe it looks like it's shining and shimmering but don't forget social media has got a wicked side and when you meet with that side, you'll see that it is not like what it looks like. Therefore, don't forget to be careful of bullies and media. See you!
